When you agree to consign your items to Modern Exchange, you're a Consignor. You maintain title to your possessions but give us the rights to sell these items for you, which makes us the Consignee. You receive the agreed-upon monetary return after the goods are sold...if they are sold.
Making your items look their best gives you a boost in resale value. Why? The better it looks, the better it sells. Here are some easy tips to help you get started:

Items should be of a current style, seasonally appropriate and generally no older than 2 years.

Items should be in new or like-new condition.​

Garments should be freshly dry cleaned or laundered.

A few minutes with an iron or a bit of cleaner will make your items much more appealing to the buyer.

Are all the buttons secure? Fasteners in working order? Seams still sturdy?

Use a good light to examine for stains, discoloration, or fading.

Check that everything's there. Forgetting a crucial accessory will decrease the value.

There is a 3 piece minimum to open an account and a 25 piece maximum per appointment.

Make sure it's ready to sell!
We know what our customers are looking for and some merchandise you may have may not be suitable. Please so not be offended if we don't accept all your items.
Merchandise is displayed for 120 days. We are equipped with the fashion know-how to accurately price any items that you may want to consign. Items are generally priced 30%-40% of their original retail value, depending on condition, style, supply and demand. If your item is new with tags, we will try to price it slightly higher. We reserve the right to discount any merchandise within the consigment period.
The Consignee/Consignor split is 60/40 of items that sell and the Consignee/Consignor split for items priced over $100 is 50/50 of items that sell. Consignment payments are processed on the 15th of every month for sales from the previous month. If your balance is $25 or over, you will get a check. Consignor checks can be picked up anytime after the 16th of every month providing the 15th is a business day. Checks are valid for 90 days.
